College Buildings

Yes, with a capital B. I'm talking the buildings that define a college.

Example:

You'll find a picture of that bad boy on all the letterheads and stuff. Why of course, it is the church. What respectful Catholic university wouldn't have it's church as it's iconic building!? Oh wait... shit. Zingerrrr. In their defense though, imagine the shit-storm that would arise over covering the roof of the entire church in gold. Good times, I'm sure.

What other buildings are there? I'm sure OSU has one, but I really don't know what it is. Miami? UC? Your school/alma mater?

For P-town, I propose the bridges over Sharon Rd. Unorthodox, sure. But maybe that's why...

For OSU its definitely the Shoe. Its a shrine. Its huge. Its right on campus. We are spoiled.

If you don't count that, check out Orton Hall. Its a stone building right on the Oval that is constructed with stone from every county of Ohio. It also houses our bell tower (which I have unlimited access too (which is kind of a big deal)).

That would be University Hall at the University of Toledo. It's on the front cover of mead college ruled notebooks, even. You can see it from pretty much everywhere on campus, with the exception of my dorm window sophomore year - it faced directly away from U Hall for some reason.

Here's a pic if you're interested:

Also, if you google image search Univeristy of Toledo, it's like the first five hits or something..

Miami (which can burn for all I care) has the Upham Arch.

It's dumb

yea... gonna have to go with dumb for the arch...

didn't realize the mean building was at UT... thats actually pretty cool

using a stadium as a monument would be a stretch most places, but i think you may be right with the shoe. i know when i went on my tour there that stuck out most (probably because they wanted to save our legs and just do what was close). i forgot about the bell tower building. i think that one may be my favorite
